This is a second design proposal for a new building in Friedrichshain, Berlin: a different idea for the layout of the street and court buildings, showcasing an appealing roof, breaking the usual boring forms with the pillars that resemble trees, terraces with brise soleil and climbing plants for the solar shading, recycled wood for the windows blinds and the entrance gates.

Particular consideration is made for the internal court which has a shared garden with vegetables and fruit which can be cultivated by all inhabitants: shared fruit of the soil, but also more sense of responsibility for the benefit of the community. At the same time a correct ventilation system, solar and photovoltaic devices and a water recycling system make this building ready to get the Klass-A sustainability plate.

Oh yes, and for the front building side wall, is planned to organize periodical graffiti art sessions!

This is another solution to re-estabilish the so called “berlinity”: the uniqueness back into the heart of this great city that Berlin could be, should be and will be.
